Der dunkle, pflaumen-/rubinrote 2004 Chateau Petrus hat einen hohen Säuregehalt sowie reichlich Süßkirschen und schwarze Johannisbeeren, gemischt mit Noten von Cola, Erde und Trüffel. Die tiefen, mittelkräftigen, konzentrierten und reifen Aromen sind unglaublich fest und tanninhaltig. Dieser retrograde, strukturierte und muskulöse Pomerol benötigt ein Jahrzehnt im Keller, hat aber das Potenzial, der langlebigste Wein des Jahrgangs zu werden, der 30 bis 40 Jahre hält.
